About the blog:

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit!  I’m Aimee and I LOVE chai lattes, making my house cute, creating useful spaces, checking out dreamy house tours, playing with my SLR cameras, my studly hubby, our three super cute kids, my baby yorkie, and most of all — Jesus!  I blog daily because I love sharing inspiration that leads to a Simply.Inspired.Home. — Design Ideas, Home Tours, DIY Projects, Seasonal Crafts, Organization Tips, Photography Tutorials, and visits from friends (you) is what makes this blog fabulous!

My Faith:

I’m blessed with lots of great friendships, but no one holds my heart like my family.  The focus of my heart is often mirrored in the voice of my family.  John 7:38 says, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From His innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'”  This has always been my favorite verse because it is a constant reminder of what is most important in life!  As I keep my eyes focused on Jesus and spend time reading the Bible, my soul overflows with living water – peace, joy and love.  This is a huge responsibility and honor.  My cup must spill over because my cup is overflowing!

Advertise:

ItsOverflowing.com was created in 2008 as a mom sharing stories about her sweet family AND her love for organization, decor, diy projects, home tours, crafts, and recipes.  In October 2011, as the blogs popularity grew, Aimee turned her hobby into a full time career. She feels so blessed that her work revolves around what she loves. Since then, the site has grown every month and has been featured in several magazines, including BHG and HGTV.  Aimee’s readers enjoy products and services related to DIY and home decor, similar to things common on her blog.  She also loves to feature fun items like jewelry, photography, and gifts — anything to pamper her readers!  To advertise or for more information, please contact Aimee —  ItsOverflowing at gmail.com

AbbieYou always make me LOL! I really think that blogging should be a side hobby and your main goal should be — on screen! Aimee,

Can’t find your email address, so I’m going to ask this through the comments thread. This is Linda from ‘it all started with paint’ and I recently started a mason jar features blog. I’d love to include your amazing mason jar desk organization system (http://www.itsoverflowing.com/2013/01/diy-desk-organization/) and wanted to ask your permission first. I just feature one picture of the final project with a clear link back urging readers to visit you for the tutorial.

I won’t run it without your permission. You can reach me at masonjarcraftslove@yahoo.com

    Thanks for your consideration!

Hi, so the picture of the three Orange tires made into chairs, is actually from the Bachman s idea house from mpls Minnesota. I think it was 2012 or 2013(summer)I actually went there and saw it:) they were in a little craft house on property of big house! If you can find it, there are tons of great ideas:)

  14. Laura Reese says:

I also can’t find your email address. I would like to feature your Smart Cookie Mason Jar gift in a back to school teacher gift gallery I am working on for the website spoonful. It would use one photo with a link back to your site to get the idea. Is this ok?

Also could you email me at the email listed here! I would love to have you guest post over at Skip to my Lou!

I love the burlap printing idea. However we have tried four different printers and they all jam. What is the name of the printer you use? Is there a trick to it?

  18. Shell says:

    HI Aimee,

First of all THANK YOU SO MUCH! I came across your photography tutorials on Pinterest and they are so helpful. I have read them all and really want more :) I tried to email you directly, but it came back undeliverable, I have a question…I am thinking of purchasing a new lens. I have a Nikon D3100 and use the 50mm portrait lens and love it, my only problem is I don’t like that it doesn’t have a zoom in and out option. I am looking for a lens that preforms the same but has this option. I am a newborn photographer for Mom365, so I photograph the babies in the hospital and the company provides the equipment, the lens they have on the camera is the Tamron AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II LD Aspherical…..are you familiar with this one? I like the range of zoom on it, but not sure if there is something else you would suggest. Please let me know if you have a recommendation and if so, I will definitely order thru your links to amazon.

    • Aimee says:

Hi Shell, I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to respond. Thanks for the sweet note of encouragement and appreciation. So nice of you. I will check my email link — oops! A newborn photographer for Mom365, that’s so great! Tamron makes great lenses, but I bet your 50mm gives you the best pics! Sadly, the 50mm portrait (and the 35mm portrait) are fixed lenses. I’ll mention your need to Stud and I’ll let you know if we think of another option! XO, Aimee

  19. Nelson Early says:

I really enjoy everything about your blog, particularly your Photography Tutorials. They are thorough, but understandable, and are common sense. Please advise, or give me an e-mail whereyou can respond more easily. Keep up the GREAT blog….

    • Aimee says:

You have totally hit a hot spot! I’m asked for the tutorials over and over and need to sit my little self down and make an easy to access ebook! Look for this to be published the beginning of next year!!! (I’ve put it in writing so I’m held to it now, right). :) XO, Aimee

Holy cow I just found your blog. AMAZING! I’m addicted. I am a mom of 3 sweet and spunky little girls (Club Estrogen) and I am not a computer person nor web surfer however, I love all the home pictures and organizing ideas. I could go on and on…. I am inquiring about those amazing jars with the colored lids and animals on the top. Where do you get the supplies for those? Are the lids spray painted? I love those and need to try to create them. I would love some help. Thank you!! Paula

    • Aimee says:

You are so sweet Paula! Thanks for your sweet words!!! I love those too. There should be a link with a tutorial under the picture if you need more info, but yes…those little animals glued on top of the jar and a couple coats of spray paint! Have a blast looking around Paula!!! XO, Aimee

  25. Christina says:

Do you still have the Yoda costume tutorial available? I would love it for my son. Thank you so much!

  26. Sophie says:

    Hello Aimee,
I would like to know the exact color you used for your white cabinets? Thank you ! :)

  27. susanne says:

I organized…meaning cleaned out…the toys in the playroom today. I have been procrastinating putting labels on my bins because I wasn’t sure what I wanted. I spent a good bit of time on pinterest searching and came across you! I have the itso bins from target as well. Mine are older and the creme color. But I do love how they fit in the expedit shelves!! After using this for a while does the Velcro still stick? I had stuck clear pockets on the bins and printed words and pics to go in them. It looked great for a week and then as soon as we opened the windows for spring air, the humidity made them all fall off. I don’t want that to happen if I invest in Velcro! Thanks! Susanne

Another to complete a home redecorating project, but they
Are discontinued. Do you have a pair for sale? Thanks

  32. Eileen Lustig says:

    Love it

  33. Beth Tanner says:

I love gray also n will be buying another house soon, down sizing. I’ve been looking at gray color schemes. I love your Grey Owl. What paint brand is it? Behr at HD? What do you mean by cutting the paint by 50%?

    • Aimee says:

Hi Beth! I actually LOVE Sherwin Williams paint so it is SW’s paint that is color matched from Benjamin Moore’s Gray Owl (Sherwin Williams gets so many requests for the color combo is actually stored in their computer). Cutting the paint by 50% helps me to lighten the intensity for the rooms in my house that don’t have as much natural light. XO, Aimee

  34. Linda Long says:

I love so many of the ideas here. Can you direct your viewers to where the furniture is available from?

  35. Kate says:

Aimee- could you find out what window vender your friend Sarah used in her house? From this post: http://www.itsoverflowing.com/2012/07/dreamy-dwelling-mid-century-modern-home-tour/

    • Aimee says:

Hi Kate! I hope you’re having a good week. I heard back from Sarah. They used Craig Morrow with Window Craft. Here’s the number, 214.662.5807. They were happy with their service. I’m excited for your house update!!! XO, Aimee
