Jack O'Lantern

Have you carved your Jack O'Lantern yet!?!?  I don't know why, but I love saying that word all drawn out, emphasizing each syllable.  Pumpkin Jack is a fun read when you do.  It's beautifully illustrated and follows the life cycle of a plant.  We're excited about it especially this year as we plan on allowing our with descriptive and emotional appeal of a pumpkin that is enjoyed and then used to fertilize the soil and a year later produce more pumpkins to share with friends.  We're especially loving this book because we plan on starting our own garden this spring!

This year, we cut off the top of the pumpkin and my Little B was in charge!
She scraped the inside so clean and even transfered the pumpkin seeds into a bowl of water to soak.  She's been craving baked and salted pumpkin seeds since she spotted her first pumpkin this season.
Big B....
...AND Baby B played with Daddy!
Daddy got busy and did some carving...
And there he is...our very own Pumpkin Jack!
