Modern Country Christmas Mantel
December 7, 2011 by Aimee • 84 Comments
On my newly white painted fireplace. If you haven’t seen the before pics you have to check it out, here. Do you LOVE it!?!? I’m married to the best Stud EVER! Seriously it took him all of ten minutes {if that even}. He nailed a hammer in for me, too so I could hang the wreath that has made it through way too many Christmases.
I grabbed one of the ornaments leftover from when I made my Front Door {Framed Ornament} Wreath, pulled a ribbon through and twisted it into a branch on the wreath.
I found my beautiful wooden sleigh at my other favorite thrift store. The price was steep {$0.50}. I kid you not! I almost screamed out loud when I found it because it was better then I could have dreamed up!
I placed a few of my flocked pine cones inside and have been staring at it ever since.
The reindeer I picked up last year after Christmas from the Home Good store for a GREAT price. I was excited that there were three different sizes reminding me of my Three Sweet B’s!
The pillar holder is from ZGallerie and made my list for top 15 Gift Ideas Under $30. I SERIOUSLY think that this set of pillar holder may have been the best purchase I ever made. They have the perfect white finish. If you know how to spray paint that glossy, pretty please share the secret!
I bet you’ve seen that picture somewhere!?!? Perhaps on my right sidebar. I’ll be sharing the scoop on our backdrop and such soon so keep checking back. But, here’s a little info on our outfits for the photo shoot. I hope I don’t clog your google reader because I may be posting twice a day so I can fit in all the material. 19 Days Until Christmas!?!? Seriously!?!?
This is our first stocking switch out and all but Baby B loves them. Baby B still wants his Potterybarn Fire Truck stocking and I sort of don’t blame him. Hmm, I’m thinking I need to go for a little random and throw his back up there. Yeah, I think I’ll do that right now. {I’ll be right back}.
I added a few sprigs of mini pinecones and berries for a little splash of color.
There’s a little closer up picture of the pine cones and berries.
The frame used to be black, white, yellow, and now a BRIGHT red!
I didn’t want everything pine around here, so I added a bit of olive leaf garland along the mantels for a classic look {apparently a lot of people like to use this type of garland in December, it was super hard to find it in stock at Hobby Lobby}. Here it is all together! It’s screaming Merry Christmas!
Oh, and we had our first fire this weekend complete with s’mores. Can I just say if you haven’t tried the Jet Puffed Stacker Mallows on your s’mores yet, you are in for a HUGE treat! {Especially if you are obsessed with a s’mores snack in the microwave during nap time}.

I totally almost bought those precious reindeer! I might have to go back for them — they look awesome in your display!!! <3 xoxo
I love your lovely mantle -it all fits so well together and so warm and welcoming!

50 cents for the wagon? You’ve got to be kidding. Your mantle is a delight, especially the recycled fence boards. I must confess I never would have thought to reuse them that way. Good job.

I actually love the cream stockings. They are perfect. I’ve been looking for just that. Where did you get them?
Curtsay I found the stockings at Target! They have green {and I think red ones, too}, of course the color we like is the hardest to track down! They’re considered “Khaki,” but I totally think they’re Cream without a hint of yellow! Crossing my fingers they have tons at your Target!!!
XO, Aimee
