Top Ten Projects in 2011

This has been such a fun year!  I had been blogging for years, but in August 2009, as Little B began kindergarten and I took on a new role as her full-time teacher, I stepped away from blogging for a season as I pursued a major learning curve.  Homeschooling has worked really well for our family.  Little B is now in third grade and Big B is in first grade.  Is it a forever thing for us!?!?  I couldn't really tell you that for sure.  I find comfort in knowing that I'm responsible for each new day!  Stud and I have a plan to reevaluate at the end of each year and see how it's working!  So far, it's been great and one of these days if you're interested I can expand on all of that.  {Can someone say TANGENT?}

In October 2011, I realized that I desperately needed an outlet again.  A means to express my love for decorating and organization!  A forum where I could let my love of writing and photography flow!  I could hardly contain myself as I published my first post on It's Overflowing, after over two years of being away.  A few of my sweet bloggy friends have giggled with me at my enthusiasm.  I think stepping away has helped me realize how much I absolutely LOVE being here!  I love expressing myself, creating, but most of all the friendships and encouragement!  As crazy as it sounds because, yes, blogging takes a lot of work, blogging totally energizes me!

As I look ahead into 2012, I have TONS more home improvement projects to share with you as well as a series on simple tips for great photography using a DSLR.  {Stud's been teaching me all the ins and outs...it's so great being married to a photographer.}  I plan to continue posting everyday, because I just like it that way!  I also am excited about continuing my Wednesday Linky Party, Overflowing with Creativity!  Look for tons of SUPER giveaways and LOTS more FB & Twitter posts!  Life is full of DIY house projects, designing, decorating, photography, crafting, cooking, baking, organizing and of course, errands! We're striving to keep things simple so we continue LOVING every moment!

  17. I'm a newer blogger, but I imagine things have changed considerably in the 2 years you've been away?
    It's definitely filled a void in my life as I was craving a creative outlet and adult interaction (I'm a sahm to 2 toddlers). I had no idea how fulfilling blogging would be. You've already had so many gorgeous projects, and I'm looking forward to seeing more in the coming year!

  18. I am loving your before and afters!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!! Really, everything is so clean and bright now!!! You've done such a great job.

    I particularly like how you painted the fireplace. We had intended on doing that too since the brick looked old and dirty. But then lightning hit it and solved that little issue for us. ;o) I love how yours turned out. That was exactly what I would have wanted mine to look like!
