Yellow Snowflake Kitchen Tour {and Tutorials}

This Christmas my three Sweet B's had asked a few times why Christmas colors were Red and Green before I finally slowed down {I know the hussle bussle is awful, right}.  Once I took the time to listen to them, they quickly figured out the colors themselves and with that, I thought why not add an additional Christmas Color in our home this year!  Yep, Yellow!
Red- Christ's blood shed for our sin on the cross. (John 19:34).
Green-  Eternal life in Christ. (John 3:16-17).
Yellow-  The wise men came from the far east when they saw the star which appeared when Christ was born.  (Matthew 2).
My three Sweet B's made these snowflakes for me and LOVED it!  They helped me use my paper slicer {they love sliding that little knob back and forth} and then after we had a lot of strips, they folded one strip in half without creasing, then added another folded strip, and another, so forth and so on until they had come up with cute snowflake.  I stapled the center and then let them cover the staple with a little glue and a sprinkle of glitter.  We hole punched the back of one of the strips and used jute to tie it to my yellow kitchen cart!  {Have you seen my tutorial on how I turned a curbside table into a kitchen cart for less than $20?}  I had some leftover fabric from when I made curtains.  I cut strips and tied a strip to each candle on my white platter.  Then I attached a bell to each side of a 8 inch piece of floral wire and wrapped the wire around each candle.  I added a few pine cones and greenery.
In my kitchen, above my stovetop, I hung another snowflake ornament that Little B made at a craft party her aunt and  cousin hosted for a few little girls.  It turned out super cute!  Here's the tutorial.  Retro Ornament.  Super easy, all you need is a paper towel roll, pipe cleaners and a hole punch.

Above my kitchen sink I added a snowflake tree {using yellow and white snow}.  I found the one vase at the Home Good store and it was in the clearance section.  Seriously!  It is huge and was all of $13, which I gladly let go of to take this treasure home!  It has a forever home at my house!
Here's a tutorial for cutting snowflakes: Snowflakes.  And of course, if you do a search you'll find tons of other ideas!  After looking at a site I was reminded {and my mother-in-law has tons of secret talents, snowflakes expert is one of them, and if she's reading this she's turning ten shades of red because she is totally a behind the scenes person}.
The branches were from Garden Ridge and they were all of $4.99 for double the bunch in the vase.  Granted that store is weird!  Seriously, why do they sell furniture, panties, bras, smocks, chapstick, cookbooks, and children's books under the same roof!?!  Throws me for a loop every time I visit.  But, the same branches were $15 plus at Michael's, so they are worth a walk through every once in a while!  I have FUN plans for those branches VERY soon so keep checking back {Remember I post more than 30 posts/month so each time you check back there's bound to be something new to enjoy, but the branch idea is a fun one and I can't wait to share it with you!}

I love my apothecary.  I know I'm totally not alone in that love!  I had some leftover ornaments from my Simple Elegance Tablescape {Tons of Pics}, I'll put a link in case you haven't seen it yet.  And combined with the lemons I think it's super pretty!  {And it's reminding me of the Star of David that lead the wise kings to Jesus, after the king was born}!
My cute Baby B reindeer was given the same treatment as the candles in the earlier pictures.  So sweet!  The white tray is another Home Good store purchase, but a couple years ago.  Seriously why do I have to drive twenty five minutes to shop here!?!?  Although, maybe it'd be dangerous were it around the corner!?!?  I think I'm willing to take my chances Home Good store if you'd like to open up shop in my neighborhood!  Next door maybe!!??
And that's Christmas in My Kitchen:  Yellow Snow Tour!  I'm so glad you stopped by to visit!  I made a little printable in photoshop {Let it Snow {FREE PRINTABLES} All Colors!}.  Around here we think yellow snow is pretty!  LOL.
