Mommy Cleaning Tip:
How to Refill Foaming Soap for Less
Okay, so Stud talked me into trying the Vlog thing again! It’s one minute long and ends with a “typical Aimee” blonde moment…{blushing}!!!! Since we’re friends I thought you should see a little more of the “real” me. LOL.
My favorite soap to use around the house is the foaming type! It’s totally worth it to me to splurge on buying these foaming soap dispensers!!! I love that it doesn’t leave residue on my dishes and in the bathrooms, it doesn’t leave a film in the sink! The foaming dispensers all say that you need to refill their dispensers with product specific soap. I’ve found a way around that….
I fill my soap dispenser with 50% soap concentrate of any variety! {Love it when I find it on sale and can use a coupon}. And 50% water from the faucet. I put the lid back on and give it a little shake. Be careful not to overfill or you’ll have a few extra bubbles to wipe away.
Works just as it did with the original soap, but for way less money. I get double the use out of one refill container because I’m diluting the soap each time I use it. AND I get to use the formula of dish soap that I like BEST! Hope this little kitchen tip brightens your day! I totally love fun kitchen tips because it keeps me motivated to leave it tidy!
*Special thanks to my older sister that shared this tip with me!

Oh my goodness…you are way too sweet!!!! Thanks for always brightening my day! XO, Aimee
LOL! I’m only laughing because my friend and I did a vlog today for my blog (hasn’t been posted yet) to give a stenciling tutorial & we had several mess-ups & things that will definitely be edited out! Some people make it look so easy! Glad to see you keeping it real! Thanks for the tip too!! I never knew you could make your own foaming soap!
I totally am excited to see your VLOG! EXCITING!!! I’m thinking it takes several goes to start feeling real comfy!??! Hoping that’s the case anyway!!! XO, Aimee
I LOVE it!!! I giggled with you both! Great to hear your voice and see your face! So cute!!! Great tips!

Amy, I didn’t even know about foaming soap! I llove your vlog, makes me want to do one (I am a ham). I love all your tutorials. Thanks for sharing. I don’t know if you know my blog (betsyspeert.blogspot.com), but I think you’d get a kick out of it. I’m not as sweet as you, but come on over anyway!
I would never have caught it unless your Photographer said something!
But thank you for that – I love foaming soap, too! How do you think it is possible to add fun smells like B&BW? I absolutely love the Palmolive Lavender scent!!
You are so hilarious! I LOVE your accent! And the Vlog was awesome! SO glad you didn’t edit it.
I had no idea you could use dish soap to make foaming soap! Thanks for the tip! I don’t know if I’ll ever make the jump to vlogging…I’ll have to have something really important to say.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the tip! I was just wondering about this the other day. With my oldest taking showers now instead of baths, we go through bodywash like crazy and I was hoping I could do something like this to make it last a litte longer!
Lol, love your video!
I’ve been meaning to get one of these…I love how Allison from House of Hepworth’s painted hers and put on a monogram.
Ha ha you are so cute. Yesterday, I said “We are home clear!” Instead of ‘in the clear,’ or ‘home free.’ I mix up my idioms all the time. Glad you left it in there
And great tip!
Great tip!! I never even considered that possibility. Thanks for passing on the info!
Such a great idea!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing the tip! Cute vlog!
What a great tip!
Thank you!
Other than you being adorable and real, I have to comment about how cute your hubby is! He’s helping you vlog! Aww!! What a supportive man you have there, my hubby’s that way too. Love it!
Awwww…That’s so sweet of you to point that out! I think he needs an extra smooch this second!!! Cheers to supportive loving hubby’s for you and I!!!! Definitely the BIGGEST blessing ever!!! XO, Aimee
I have done that, since I brought some Bath and Beyond foaming soap last year from the US, but can’t get anything like that here. So, I just refill with regular soap and water
watch out for mold though. I did this for years, until I noticed black flaky mold floating around in the foamer mechanism. I haven’t had a problem with my foamers that held hair products that I repurposed. But the actual foam soap dispensers that I am using have a larger reservoir integrated into the pump mechanism and that’s where mine developed mold. Just sayin
That’s GREAT advice!!! Thanks for taking time to help keep us safe!!! XO, Aimee
I have been refilling my foaming soap dispensers for years, but I only add enough dish liquid (or shampoo I bought and didn’t like, or liquid body wash) to cover the very bottom of the dispenser. Then, I fill with warm water to the fill line and shake to mix it together. Works great and is very foamy. Just thought I would add this because it seems you are using way more of the concentrated solution than you actually need.
I should clarify that I am talking about the little foaming hand soap dispensers like the Dial brand foaming hand soap ones. I haven’t tried the Dawn Direct Foam dispensers, but I would think they should work the same:)
This is why I love your blog. You are so cute and give good information…Even if you have blonde moments.
I tell you what sweet friend, I’m SO glad I’m in good company!!!
I’m famous for my subbed in random words! Keeps my hubby in stitches!!! Thanks for your sweet note Nikki! So glad you stopped by to say hi!!! XO, Aimee
