Strawberry Shortcake Delight
This afternoon, after our daily rest time, Little B and I sent the boys out to practice batting {yep, basketball is wrapping up and baseball is about to be in full swing} and the two of us had a little girly tea party with our favorite, Chai Tea and strawberry shortcake! I bought an angel food cake from the grocery store and cut a slice in half so I could add a layer of whipped cream and strawberries! Topped with more whipped cream and strawberries...it was totally divine! The two of us both prefer our whipping cream to be prepared fresh, a cup of whipping cream and a teaspoon or two of sugar...mix with the hand mixer for 4-5 minutes or until texture thickens. It's the VERY BEST!I turned the bottom tea cup face down and then stuffed the top tea cup with ribbon that I had nearby {tissue paper would work, too}. Then I placed the top tea cup upside own on top of the bottom tea cup and lay the pretty lacy plate on top of the tea cups! Two of our favorite tea cups {Little B has been collecting tea cups for a while now and absolutely is OBSESSED with her collection! The tea blue tea cup was my Nana's and will forever be my favorite! The tea pot is from Home Goods store, their selection of white dishes is amazing!! The sweet perched bird was a gift from my sister in law a few birthdays ago...it's from Pier One {I think} and is SUPER CUTE! I hope Mother's Day is filled to the brim with beautiful memories for you and your loved ones!!!
