Strawberry Shortcake Delight {Little B and Me}

Strawberry Shortcake Delight

This afternoon, after our daily rest time, Little B and I sent the boys out to practice batting {yep, basketball is wrapping up and baseball is about to be in full swing} and the two of us had a little girly tea party with our favorite, Chai Tea and strawberry shortcake!  I bought an angel food cake from the grocery store and cut a slice in half so I could add a layer of whipped cream and strawberries!  Topped with more whipped cream and strawberries…it was totally divine!  The two of us both prefer our whipping cream to be prepared fresh, a cup of whipping cream and a teaspoon or two of sugar…mix with the hand mixer for 4-5 minutes or until texture thickens.  It’s the VERY BEST!

I turned the bottom tea cup face down and then stuffed the top tea cup with ribbon that I had nearby {tissue paper would work, too}.  Then I placed the top tea cup upside own on top of the bottom tea cup and lay the pretty lacy plate on top of the tea cups!  Two of our favorite tea cups {Little B has been collecting tea cups for a while now and absolutely is OBSESSED with her collection!  The tea blue tea cup was my Nana’s and will forever be my favorite!  The tea pot is from Home Goods store, their selection of white dishes is amazing!!  The sweet perched bird was a gift from my sister in law a few birthdays ago…it’s from Pier One {I think} and is SUPER CUTE! I hope Mother’s Day is filled to the brim with beautiful memories for you and your loved ones!!!

    I love the way you displayed your cake slice. I use my teacups/small bowls and plates to make stands for goodies, but I never thought the stack them and use different patterns like this. I love it! You picture will be my Food Porn Friday sidebar post this week. Feel free to stop by and grab a featured button if you like. I found this post through your tt&j feature. 🙂

    Very cute display, and really tasty looking treats! Your camera must be REALLY good because it captures the whiteness of the cake and the frosting along with the brilliant red of the strawberries to a T!!!!! I actually felt like I could reach out and grab it! (Wish I could!) 🙂
