Snazzy Shamrock Shake Recipe

It's March...Saint Patrick's Day is right around the corner!  Around here we're all about making holidays super simple and special!!!  McDonald's has reintroduced their Shamrock Shake, and although I could totally go that route...I like surprising my sweeties with treats that flow from my hear to theirs best of all!   My version is called the Snazzy Shamrock Shake and it's so good!  It's the perfect Saint Patrick's Day treat...a minty milkshake memory maker!  And it's definitely one of my sweet B's favorites!  Here's how to make this yummy treat....
Snazzy Shamrock Shake Recipe:

Add 2 cups of mint chocolate chip ice cream {we totally love Blue Bell}, 3/4 - 1cup of milk and a tablespoon of green sprinkles to your blender.

The green and chocolate sprinkles throughout the minty cream is divine!  The sprinkles throughout remind me of Chili's awesome chocolate milkshake with sprinkles throughout...one of my sweet roommates in college introduced me and to this day, it still ranks high on my list!

Pulse the mixture 4-5 times or until just combined {too much blending and you'll have a brown milkshake rather than a Snazzy Shamrock Shake Recipe}.  Serve topped with whipped topping, green sprinkles, and a sprig of mint!
Big B is thinking Saint Patrick's day is almost as fun as Halloween...this milkshake is so simple and so good!!!  I'm thinking we may be having a shamrock shake every day between now and the 17th!  LOL!  What are your Saint Patrick's day traditions!?!?  Do you have your green outfit picked out so you don't get pinched!!?
 First taste...contemplating....Second taste....

66 Sweet Notes:

  1. Great tip about not over-pulsing! I overmixed some food coloring this morning and we wound up with decidedly unappetizing cupcakes. Oh well, I'll just frost the heck out of them and call it a day:)

We don't really do a whole lot for St. Patricks day here in Aus - unless you are Catholic, and sometimes my friends (who are Catholic) don't even do it then! I have to say, though, that I think I might have to make this one for my boys - I'm sure it won't last long!
