Easter House Tour

April 4, 2012 by 32 Comments

I like to add a touch of Easter throughout the house.  This year Spring arrived early and my sweet B’s were eager for me to bring the Easter bin down from the attic in February when we had weather in the 80s and they were dressed in shorts!  I held them off a bit, but the first weekend in March we pulled our bin out of the attic and had fun adding Easter touches in each room!

Kitchen….
This Easter tree is from Target about ten years ago.  It is my absolute favorite!  This tree is the most yummy color of yellow ever and each egg is slightly unique, decoupaged with the darling dainty flowers.  It is always the first thing I take out of my Easter bin because I can’t wait to place it on my white kitchen table.

Did you see this already!?!  My Easter table setting!?!?  The details are here.

And this sweet Ukrainian egg was made last year by my sweet little B.  She worked with hot candle wax and dye to create a sweet polk-a-dot egg.  It turned out great and took a whole lot of patience.  It sits on the shelf above my kitchen sink next to some Spring flowers.

Family Room…

This Easter tree is definitely not so subtle.  It is from World Market’s after Easter sale a few years back, priced 90% off.  The tree and ornaments, were $1.97 total.  My sweet B’s like to decorate this tree and while there are a ton more ornaments that we could put on the tree, I usually convince them of my life motto, simplicity is almost always best.  They did GREAT.  I place this tree on my newly remodeled built-in.  Guess I better show that to you soon, right!
Also on the built-in bookshelf in our family room, I added some splashes of Easter by placing some of our dyed eggs here and there.  I’m noticing I have a nice random assortment of books displayed here.  LOL.  My favorite…Garry Smalley, for sure!
Still in the Family Room, I have an old blue mason jar with a strand of yellow fabric flowers from Hobby Lobby and below are my Easter Bunnies from Pier One that my Mother-in-Law {bestie} treated me to, years ago.  Oh, and have I showed you my mantel yet?!   Oops, I’m thinking I need to catch up and do some two-a-day posts for a while.

And on the coffee table in the Family Room, I have my chalkboard paint eggs for my Sweet B’s to enjoy…over and over and over again!  Click here for more about that.

And just across the way, by my back door I had these adorable little bunnies…that needed a little makeover to fit in a little better.  A simple coat of white spray paint was just the touch of love they needed to make them feel like they were styling again!  A dollar each at a yard sale, their perky ears won me over.  I love them to pieces…sweet things!
Here’s the before:

On our vacation, posts found here, we saw lots of evidence of Spring.  Everywhere we looked we saw deer, rabbits, cows, sheep with their young.  It was so precious.
And the after:

Little B’s Room….
She picked this sweet tree out several years ago.  I’m pretty sure it was from Marshall’s or TJMaxx.  She is as excited to display this tree on her table made by Pa a few years ago as her mommy is about her tree for the kitchen.

Big B and Baby B’s Room…
Of course the boys wanted a touch of Easter in their room, too.  They didn’t remember so I didn’t remind them, but their tree last year broke.  Oops.  I found this bunny that our sweet neighbor at our old house has passed down to us from when her boys were young and hung it on their door.  Unbreakable…Check!  Easter decor for the boys…Check!

Master Bedroom…
I’ve already switched my bedding to my Spring set.  Dark gray seems to dark for me this time of year.  I’ll give you the scoop on this set soon.  My decor in here is tiny.  Just a precious nest in a darling topiary.

Entry…

On my entry table I have a large paper mache bunny with a blue little bow.  This was from the goodwill around Christmas.  She looks real cute sitting next to my Anthropologie-ish Candelabra that I recently picked up while traveling the country.  I found several precious treasures, but that will have to be a post of it’s own.  Like I said, I have some major catching up to do…two-a-days may be in order, what do you think!?!?  Would that over-fill your blog reader!?!?

Dining Room…

My dining room table is home to my little bunny egg and bunny carrot.  The tutorial for these I’m guest posting at my sweet friends blog, Lolly Jane- you should check it out!  I placed them on my domed server.  The domed server was on my Christmas wish list and it ended up under my treeHere‘s the list with links to some of my favorite things under $30.

Living Room…
And in the living room, we have our Resurrection Eggs, aka the Easter Story in Eggs.  These prompt great discussion.  If you don’t have a set, you can make your own.

And this year…The Easter Story Printables…click for the link.
