Knockout and Knockoff Candleholders!

April 25, 2012 by 23 Comments

I’m still working on my entry and can’t wait to show you more, but before I show off my entry table, I want to make it pretty for you!  One of the things I’ve been in search of more my entry tablescape is pretty candleholders!  In case you’re on the hunt, too, here’s what I’m loving…and a little peek at me as a copycat, but you knew that about me already!

Potterybarn: Handblown glass, each can hold either pillar or taper candles. The lower tray – modeled after the 19th-century bobeche, which protected tables from dripping wax – holds small botanicals or other display items.  $14-69 each with free shipping.

CB2:  Handblown and heat-tempered strong in clear chem lab beaker glass. Sculptural stacked discs ascend candlelight as modern heirlooms in three light-as-a-feather styles. $4.95 each with $4.95 flat shipping fee.

Target: And the famous French store has glass candle-holders for only $1.99 each..free in store pickup!  I picked up two and attached them with a ring of hot glue to give me the same look as I found at two of my favorite stores!
I love my hot glue gun because it’s not permanent!  If I choose to create a tablescape and need two taper holders, I can pull these apart.  But for now, they’re serving their purpose…I’m almost finished created a little tablescape for you…I’ll share it real soon!  It’s on my entry table and is looking very summery!  Are you ready for summer yet!?!?  I am TOTALLY ready to finish up school!  We have 2-3 weeks left and then POOL time!!!
And since we’re on the topic of stylin’ candlesticks…
here are a couple other looks that I’m totally liking this season!
CB2…Handblown glass abras holding 3 or 5 tapers.
 DIY from Happy Mundane…same height
wine bottles with varying heights of candlesticks.
DIY from Martha Stewart Weddings shares these beautiful wood
painted candlesticks.  Set upright on newspaper and spray.  Let dry.
Turn over and fully cover with spray paint again.  Dry completely.
World Market: Recycle Glass Pillar Candleholders. Handcrafted
by artisans of Spain from crushed recycled glass that is melted
down, then given new life when it’s molded into shape.
And I’m loving that Target has a set of three of these Fleur de Lys design
votive holders for only $2.50 in the Dollar Bins section!
Whatever, right!!!  Thanks La Petite Vie for scoping them out for us!
And of course, if you’ve visited here before, you may
know that I totally L.O.V.E my darling white pillar holders
from ZGallerie!  They work with everything!
and now…they come in black and aquamarine, too!
Dreamy, right!  And only $12.94-$14.95.
I used mine here and here… and will be using them tons more!
And I may have to try to copy ferm LIVING‘s candleholders and
cut some bottles in half and then spray paint them fun colors- so cute!
Anthropologie had darling trinket candlesticks for only $398!
{I’m totally serious…and they sold out of them!}
Here’s another look at them….
My friend Abbie at Five Day 5 Ways made a knockoff,
$15 for all 3!  So cute! She has the scoop on her AWESOME blog.
It’s days away from my birthday…I’m thinking I need to splurge on a
few pretties!!!  Any suggestions for me!?!?

Clip it!

  15. They’re all so beautiful. I have the wooden ones in the Martha DIY pic and a metal one just like the one in the ZGallerie pic so I’m just one spray can away from achieving some of these beautiful lovelies.

    Great inspiration! So fun!

  17. Oh my! Thank you so much for collecting such inspiring images. I love the idea of using hot glue to hold together glass pieces temporarily. I’ve used E-6000 to make permanent projects but I’d never thought of that! And if you have the time, I’d love for you to share on Sweet Sharing Monday! http://saynotsweetanne.com/2012/sweet-sharing-monday-3/

Those are all so lovely! I’m not sure which I like best!

  19. What pretty candlesticks! I have to say my favorites are the wooden Martha ones. Funny you should post about candlesticks right now. Just last week I picked up 5 old brass candlesticks at the thrift store. I’m still trying to decide what to do with them. I’m thinking maybe spray paint?
