How to Add Titles to Photos in PicMonkey

May 19, 2012 by 17 Comments

I’ve had a few requests in my comments for some tutorials on PicMonkey so tonight I wanted
to share with you how I add titles to my photos and a few of my favorite fonts on PicMonkey. But first…let me explain the photos I’m using in this tutorial.

Here’s our little Fishy, Bubbles – cute bowl, right – ZGallerie,
although nowadays I always see these at Home Goods, too.  Sadly…

This CUTE bowl had a terrible fate!  The day of our Mother Daughter Tea Party {I know I’m so behind and totally need to post about it…promise I will soon}, I had just finished up all my baking and fruit prep…I grabbed Bubbles bowl to clean it…as I set it down on the granite so I could use my net to get Bubbles, the bowl broke in half!  Water, beads and fish went ALL OVER the counter and the smell…AWFUL!  Thankfully Bubbles landed in the sink and I was able to grab him and throw him into the water cup I had waiting for him while I cleaned his bowl.  In an hours time I was able to get everything cleaned up and a candle lit to take care of the smell before the girls and their mothers arrived!  A pic of Bubbles new home is at the end of the post!

When adding a Title to Photos, I like to use PicMonkey.  I export my picture to my desktop and open up PicMonkey online, it let’s me select my picture and appears .  This is a super user friendly program with lots of options.  Do you see below where there’s a heart, bubble and star!?!?  I click on that and then click on the Geometric button.  There are several options here, but I always choose the rectangle…you should totally explore and find your favorite!

Then I choose a color and fade it as much or little as I prefer.  In this picture the blinds are NOT screaming pretty so I chose to not fade it as much as is shown below.

See what I mean…the yellow is much cuter then the white blinds so no need to majorly fade, right!

I love to use: Lobster Two and Budmo Jiggler fonts together AND Luckiest Guy and Bilbo Swash Caps font together, but there are lots of great font combos and I have a blast playing with them!  When I decided on gray lettering, I wen ahead and faded the background a bit more…just clicked on the yellow and rectangle and the color prompt came back on the screen.  There it is…

Down on the bottom left, I click save to save my photograph
{making sure to give it a name that will pull up for others when they do an image search}.
After I’ve saved my picture back to my desktop, replacing the old file,
I open Picasaweb and upload my photograph to my file of this months pictures!
…And there you have it, ready to be uploaded to my blog post!

Here is Bubbles retirement condo….it seems to be working just fine for him!
{I used PicMonkey to change the table color, but that tutorial is for another time).
Really soon I’m going to share with you my thoughts on watermarking!!!
Are you loving PicMonkey, too!?!?

  7. I found picmonkey a few months ago and love it for adding my watermark and rounded corners. I find it’s quicker than using photoshop. I can’t wait until they come out with their collage feature. I love Bilbo Swash font. So cute.

You are quite the photo editing guru. I love any tutorial you have on photography. By the way I love that fish bowl! ;)

  9. Awww…Glad bubbles is ok. I had a beta fish named Captain but he wasn’t as lucky when I left him in a giant cup on top of my car and forgot about him as I took off and the cup fell off and spilled (I was bringing him on a trip home with me during college). Poor Captain was hibatchi grilled on the asphalt road. :(

I will have to give Pic Monkey a try sometime. Thanks!
