How to Watermark Your Photos in PicMonkey

May 25, 2012 by 9 Comments

Marketing yourself on the internet has explosive potential, but at the same time, pics are being transferred so quickly, it’s easy for your work to become lost in the mix.  I’m excited to show you a simple way to watermark your photos using Picmonkey!

My first blog project that was well received and featured lots was my Simple Pumpkin Mousse.  One of my first blog friends, Jessica sent me an email with a helpful tip at the time… “Start watermarking your pictures!”  I was so worried that it would take a lot of time and was real hesitant at first.  If you look back at that post, the fonts are all different and the font color is a bit blaring, but it was a great start and definitely helped my blog’s name start to become recognized!  I leave it this way in that post, because I LOVE that it’s a starting point for me!  I hope through this post to return the favor and show you how that watermarking is simple and definitely worth your time!

1. Open PicMonkey and Select your Photo.
2. Once your picture pops up, select ‘P’ in the option box.
3. Next, pick a font that works with your current blog font and claim it as your own!
4. Type your blog name and select add with your mouse.
 5.  Pull the font to the size and location of your preference.
6. Lastly, adjust the color of your blog name and use the same each time.  My
preference is something that makes your blog’s name obvious, but not glaring!
Tah Dah….save your work back to your desktop then upload to your blog!

Did you see my post about how to add titles using PicMonkey {here}!?!?

I’m not paid or endorsed by PicMonkey, I just really really really like their services!!!

  1. Aimee-, quick question. Do you just store all your blog photos on your hard drive and upload them that way? I’ve been uploading from Picasa which auto-watermarks for me, but I might grow out of that soon:)

    • Short answer is Yes…I do…sorta. I don’t just upload them through my blog though. Let me go through all those details next week because I bet there are a lot of ways to do it, my way is free so maybe that will help others! Thanks so much for your question! XO, Aimee

This is great advice, Thanks so much. I have been using Picnik but since it closed last week I have had no way of watermarking them. This looks just perfect.

Thank you for this! I now have the hang of watermarking and making collages. Yay! Would you consider doing more picmonkey tutorials in the future? I’m trying to learn to take better pictures on the front end, but I need to learn lots more about editing photos, how to know the difference between sharpness and clarity, how to figure out “temperature” settings when editing and so, so much more. Any photo editing tips you could share would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!

  5. I also use Picassa as it automatically adds the watermark. So am I understanding correctly that you’re adding this each time to each picture? That seems like a lot of work — maybe I’m misunderstanding how this works?

Thank you so much for this! I’m new to blogging and not a real computer genius, and have been wondering how to do that.

Hi Aimee…I was hoping you would tell me what plugin you are using for your social media links at the end of your posts? I am using Sociable right now but it doesn’t include Pinterest and it’s not showing up on my feed. I’d love your advice.
Thanks! If you’re wondering why I’m commenting on this post from May…I just sent this link to a blogger buddy who needs to start watermarking her photos. Thanks for that too!
