reminder, {myself included}, I placed 1 Thessalonians 5:14

my new DIY Seashell Candleholder!
When we vacationed in Florida, we picked up a lot of seashells.
Each summer I pull the memory filled seashells out and add them to
an apothecary or bowl…this year I decided I should make something
more lasting…and I’m loving it…my new DIY Seashell Candleholder!
I gathered the seashells that my sweet B’s have collected,
my glue gun and a candleholder that once was gunmetal
color…it was a wedding gift from my Aunt and Uncle.
The other, also painted white, is on my mantel {here}.
With no order, we layered our seashells onto the candleholder
using the hot glue gun to hold each in place…it didn’t take very many!
When the shells were set, I grabbed some leftover caulk from
the garage and used my fingers to fill in a few of the larger gaps.
After those were filled, I used several damp paper towels to smooth
away the excess…followed by a dry towel to remove any lint.
Then I sprayed the candleholder with some glossy white spray paint
and it was ready to sit all pretty on my coffee table in the family room.

Wow– that really came together with the glossy white paint. I love that these were shells you collected on a family vacation and now they have a special place in your home.

I love the be patient, and seashell candle stick!
This is ingenious! Hats off to you!
These look great, I especially like how you’ve painted them all one colour. Iv covered a few frames and mirrors with shells but not candlesticks, I imagine it would’ve been hard to keep them from sliding off hmmmm not sure if Im patient enough for this one!
The family photo is marvelous! What a great way to use seashells!
You were spot on in your version. Well done!
How nice! I never would have thought for that.
Great knock off! And shiny white spray paint makes everything look better!

Fantastic!!! I have a ton of seashells that I collected on the beach right before my husband proposed… they’re dear to my heart but I have no where to put them- this is a fantastic fix! Thanks for the tutorial…. and idea.
Those are fantastic!! We have a collection of shells that we continually add to also – I’m going to do something similar. Thanks for sharing!!

I love this! Thank you for sharing!
You did a wonderful job. The candlesticks are fantastic.
I like yours better than the inspiration. Love the idea of spray painting it when you were done putting the shells on. It all came together so beautifully. Thanks for the cool idea. I have tons of shells and much as I like to pick them up, I don’t always know what to do with them when I get home. This is a great idea.

This is really a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Found you at French Country Cottage.
Sure loving those candlesticks, especially shell bedecked one. Love shell projects.
I have just the candlestick to put shells on. I don’t get to go to Florida to get them but quite often our local thrift store has some and I make sure I grab them right away or they’re gone in a heart beat.
You have a beautiful family. Such a wonderful time of your lives.
I love this, I am planning a Mermaid B-day party for my daughter this summer and am looking for all the fun beach decorations I can find. I pined it!

*giggles* A friend and I have challenged each other to a little Z Gallerie knock- off event and this candlestick is one of the projects I intend to tackle.
Great to see that it can be done so beautifully- I hope my results will be anywhere near as pretty as your little beauty!
