Virtual Window Shopping {IKEA}

Where have you shopped lately!? I’m starting a new series called, ‘Virtual Window Shopping.’ I’m excited to take you window shopping with me at some of my favorite stores. Let’s kick the series off with some of my favorite finds at IKEA…
- Rotera Lantern for Tealights {here}. If you’ve looked under my decorate section {here} at the top of my blog, you’ve seen that I’ve been doing a lot of outdoor dreaming! Behind all that inspiration, I’ve been working away on an end result…I’m very excited to reveal that to you soon. I don’t think any outdoor decor is complete without some fun lighting! The price is definitely right on these lanterns.
- Henny Rand Cushion covers {here}. In the picture below, one thing doesn’t really belong…no not BIG B…he’s looking pretty comfortable in the staged outdoor living space. The Henny Rand Cushion covers aren’t outdoor pillows. Big B was lugging them around for me and set them down when he decided to chill for a minute. They’re embroidered with yarn in different colors: black, gray and brown on a white background. They’re looking real good on my white Ektorp Couch {here} and {here}!
- Slom Jar with lid, 61 oz. clear glass {here}. This comes in four different sizes. In my living/dining room I have an armoire holding all my sewing randomness. Anything organization makes my heart skip a beat. These are definitely going to be put to good use!
- Ritva Chair Cushions {here}. I had these in my cart for a long time and then passed. Guess what I did when I got home…totally regretted letting them go. A bit later, I talked with a friend, I never realized she had these same cushions in white, she has laundered them and bleached them and they’re still going strong! Touch-and-close fastening keeps the chair pad in place; easy to put on and remove. These cushions will be the first thing in my cart during my next IKEA virtual window shop and they’ll go {here}!
- Premiar Picture, World Map {here}. With a large picture you can create mood and atmosphere in a whole room. The picture has extra depth and life because it’s printed on high quality canvas. This is definitely an investment piece that you’ll want to have the perfect spot picked out before purchasing, but if you homeschool or like to talk with your kids about world news, this would be so perfect to have in the family room…and it’s such a great work of art!
- Skubb Storage Boxes, set of 6 {here}. Keeps socks, belts, jewelry etc. organized in your chest of drawers or wardrobe. Folds to save space when not in use. Like I’ve said before, organization is totally my love language! As set of 6 for $7.99 was a total bargain.
- Rens Sheepskin {here}. I love the versatility of this rug/throw. A bit on the small side, it’s perfect as a table runner, on the back of a hard chair, on the arm of a sofa, on a bench, or on piled with a grouping on the floor in front of a bed. Although not great for allergies, these definitely add great texture to a room. IKEA also makes a faux sheepskin.
- ALANG Wall Lamp {here}. A soft mood light, this would be great in either of my Sweet B’s bedrooms mounted above their bedside tables. I think I’m going to try a little spray paint on the shades!?!? Worth a try, right! I’ll let you know how it goes. I love it when accent pieces are super cheap to switch out when my mood changes!
- UNG DRILL Frame {here}. Above my white Ektorp Couch I have plans for a collage of pictures! I think this frame with a little artwork from my sweet Stud, may be a great personal touch!
- RIBBA Frames {here}. And I always love the Ribba Frames…see all the options in the picture above!?! Definitely a great option for a collage wall and I love that at IKEA they sell square frames, they’re so hard to find anywhere else!
And of course, I can’t do that much browsing without a little embarrassment
from my Sweet B’s! They were obsessed with the brown glue that IKEA
uses to set the toilets in their staged bathrooms. It was all giggles at every
toilet throughout our shopping trip. Those crazy boys keep little B laughing!
So, what fun window shopping have you done lately!?!

I LOVE this idea! Thanks for taking me to Ikea. Haven’t been in a couple years, have to put it on my list.
I wish there was an Ikea anywhere near me!
I’ve been doing some crazy window shopping at Hobby Lobby lately! It’s a new addition here in southern California.
Oh my goodness, that’s fun that you have it now…Hobby Lobby is definitely one of my FAVES, too! XO, Aimee
I just got home from Ikea! The marketplace was under construction though so the place was a mess, and the little one was whining, so I didn’t do my normal dreamy tour of the showrooms. Next time! (Or, I’ll just shop through your blog
I am a HUGE virtual window shopper! I own most of these items from Ikea. It’s the best!! I LOVE your blog!

we love going to ikea!
Ikea is on my list to stalk this summer — working on pulling together a crafting space and this gives me some FAB ideas!!
Thanks, Aimee!

Your virtual window shopping post is making me want to spend actual money. What great finds!
Lots of that stuff has been in my real IKEA shopping cart, heh heh! Just a tip on the RITVA chair cushions: if you’re planning on washing them often (I’ve got the white ones, and whenever kids visit, that’s so not a good idea) – they slightly change their shape and won’t be as comfy to sit on after washing and drying (maybe your friend was just luckier than me =). But besides, they’re great!
Love your idea of a virtual shopping tour, but I am green with envy that i am not near these places. Oh, well, I guess small town life has its drawbacks!

IKEA has also been my go-to place to drool/window shop as of late–love that you blogged about this!!
I LOVE Ikea and went for the first time in March! Before I went I was blogging my Ikea shopping list, lol
IKEA is so fun to shop at, but ours is always so CROWDED. I much prefer the online version!
