Handmade Curtains Compliments of Tulip Tie-Dye

I made Handmade Curtains Compliments of Tulip Tie-Dye to use on my SIMPLE DIY Puppet Theater!  There are so many different pattern options….I decided on the striped style…seemed perfect for mini-curtains!  Can you believe, this was my first attempt at tie dying?!?

I stretched my craft cloth over my white kitchen table, followed by a large plastic surface cover, provided by Tulip Tie-Dye.  Then I dampened my fabric and began folding it into pleats, like I was making a fan.   After my folding was complete, I wrapped rubber bands around the fabric every 1-2 inches.

Once folded and banded, I mixed up the perfect shade of blue dye!

I applied the dye along the folded edges, then flipped the fabric over and applied to the along the other side of folded edges.  Simple stuff.

Next, I covered the fabric with plastic wrap and left it to set for 6-8 hours.  Cut the rubber bands and rinse (I chose the sink because I had applied liquid stitch to the seams and I didn’t want to test it’s durability).  I let the fabric sun bathe for an hour and then brought it inside…The Results:

I’m LOVING my Handmade Curtains Compliments of Tulip Tie-Dye.  Handmade Curtains Compliments of Tulip Tie-Dye.  And they look SUPER CUTE on my newest DIY: Twin Sheet Turned Puppet Theater!

My next project…Kitchen Towels using the brush on and ombre tutorials below!
