Do it Yourself Wall Art Decor (Great Tip for Any Style)

I am all about, Do it Yourself Wall Art Decor, especially when it takes a few minutes and cost a few bucks. Remember the art I made for our foyer using a piece of colorful contact paper as my stencil? Before peeling away the stencil to paint, the stencil adhered to the canvas looked like a perfect piece of art (here). Fast forward a bit…I was shopping at Target and on clearance was a tubed wall decal for just a few bucks…here’s what I did with it!
I measured the width and length and cut a piece of wood. I used my favorite staining technique (here), peeled the sticker, and adhered it to the board. Instant artwork!
I love how boy this is…and usually framed maps are priced high, stained board and a clearance wall adhesive ended up costing me just a few dollars! I placed the map above the thrifty finds that I showed you the other day!? And next to the thrifty finds is an old clip board that I purchased for a dime at an estate sale. We’re using it for Big B to display his most recent artwork…today, a rocket ship. I hope to find more vintage clip boards and fill this wall up with masterpieces!
Here are a couple of wall decals I’m considering for Little B’s room…using a colorfully painted board…or maybe, just plain classic white as my backdrop. (A monogram or quote would be cute, too). This is what I call EAST do it yourself wall art decor!
