Dreamy Dwelling: Southern Living Idea House

Have you seen the 2012 Southern Living Idea House!? What I wouldn’t give to take a little road trip to Senoia, GA…for now I’ll stare at the pics in my magazine and stalk this house online. There are a ton of pictures of this home at SouthernLiving, here’s a little peek…
This white kitchen makes my heart skip a beat! IKEA’s stainless steel appliances and chrome hardware, paired with the double pendant lights with a touch of brass over the island, a copper platter, a wooden bowl, a pewter teapot, and black accessories, mix together perfectly.
Don’t you think the colors in this home are totally dreamy. I love the layers of natural color with compliments of more earthy shades of green and accented with whatever mood flower you choose on a whim from week to week. Limitless options!
I’ve been begging my hubby to find a tortoise shell for years! It’s awful to say, but I’m green with envy over the pic below. It’s out of control how badly I want one of these beauts! Speaking of gorgeous, did you see that distressed sofa table!? I think every home needs a table with planks of dark wood…I’m working on finding my table to accent like this…it’s on my must find list.
Wall gallery up the stairs…um, YES! I could stare at this arrangement for next to forever! I love artwork and am amazed by this collection of gorgeous landscapes in muted tones.
Speaking of Dreamy…gray is just such a gorgeous, rich color…and the planked walls…LOVE! I also am obsessed with the darling little fern. And the striped bedding. Lovely, right!
And I couldn’t end this dreamy dwelling house tour without sharing this classic khaki and white bedroom. I love the wall gallery of family portraits in black and white. The bedding is totally how I make up my bed…the versatility of a white spread combined with accent patterned shams and throw…is so practical and keeps the room from seeming overdecorated. This room is absolutely timeless and beautiful…as is the entire home!

The kitchen is too white for me, but that living room is my DREAM living room!
What a cool house! I love the living room and the colors! I just would have to replace the coffee table (too many bruised legs!) and those deer things in the bedroom (would totally creep me out at night!). xo Anja
