Overflowing with Creativity 9/8
September 9, 2012 by Aimee • 24 Comments
Stud’s Father’s Day gift was left in his pocket and ended up in the washing machine. Oops! He had been consistent about counting his step with his pedometer for three months. I was so bummed when I was loading the dryer and saw it…completely wet and not turning on. In disparity, I grabbed a bowl, filled it up with rice, and left the pedometer inside for the next 8 hours. I couldn’t stand the thought of waiting another minute…I pulled it out of it’s rice bath and pressed the reset button…good as new!

Aimee, Thanks so much for hosting this great party week after week! Amazing about the rice! I dropped my cell phone in a pool last summer and we held a hairdryer to it for about 30 minutes and it worked again! Sometimes, they have a 2nd life in them! Life to the full, Melissa
Thanks so much for hosting Aimee! I know so many people who have successfully saved their phones with rice – it’s so amazing! I just need a quick trick for fixing broken screens…Bryce bit {yes, BIT} my phone last week and shattered my phone’s screen. I cried. Somehow the phone is still functioning and I hear that I can get just the screen replaced without having to spend $500 on a brand new phone…that’s what’s going on this week!
Thanks for hosting, Aimee! Have a great weekend.

We are among the success stories for visiting friends of our kids who hop in the hot tub phone in pocket, and placed in rice after. But we were not so lucky when it happened to my son’s ipod touch. RIP.
