Spray Paint Decorating Therapy
September 24, 2012 by Aimee • 24 Comments
Who took our Fall weather away?! I spent three long hours at the baseball fields watching Big B and his select team play ball and to say it’s hot is a total understatement! I’m getting a little worried that my pumpkins on my front porch are becoming pumpkin pie about now! Despite the heat, I found some shade and painted the newest addition to my home, a thrifty find that is real cute….especially with a little spray paint decorating therapy!
Here he is totally ready to chill at Grandma’s house….
And here he is after a makeover. White and sophisticated sitting on my modern white marble table with chrome legs, looking real cute. I don’t know if I’ve shown you my new lamps yet, either?! After years of crossing my fingers that Fort Worth, Texas would have it’s own Home Good store, it a done deal! After miles of walking through many a stores, this was a perfect fit for my space (so perfect, I bought an additional to complete the look in the room).
The week ahead will have Stud working lots of hours. So much so that he’s feeling like a dead beat dad even before the week has begun. Knowing his heart pull, I asked him to drive to a nearby church and cut a few stems of fall foliage from their landscape. After just one dirty look, he and Big B, with pocket knives in hand, totally made my day. The stink eye look from Stud is still cracking me up. He’s one of those guys that is blessed and cursed with the ‘super nice’ gene. His attempts to be mean are so out of character, they make me laugh. This particular look will definitely carry me through the extra hours of busyness!

What did you paint Marlee!?!? XO, Aimee
So cute! You have such a knack for making everything beautiful!
Another DFW’er here, I know what you mean, wishing for fall weather which usually gets here around the middle of Oct. Good job on the painting, everything seems to look better in all white…
In a nut shell, you’re new found find is so cute. I liked the color before but it’s adorable as well after spraying it. I like things will little critters as part of the items.
Oh, by the way, if you’re ever in Mansfield there is also a Home Good store in the mini mall, just down from Michael’s along 287.

Funny I actually saw this same candy dish at my local GW and passed it by..so sorry I did now.
This was a cute post … I especially loved your last paragraph. It made me smile a LOT! Your new find is very sweet, especially with it’s new coat of paint, and I really like your Home Goods lamp. I’m hoping they’ll open one up over this way soon…
Did you just spray paint it? I see a ton of these little porcelain animals in the junk shops…never thought about adding a bit of spray paint. Any more details? Kind of paint? Just sprayed it after cleaning it?
Home Goods is great!
Nice job with the spray paint. Love spray paint makeovers!
Love your spray painted items! I’ve been doing this myself. Would love to have you link this up at Wow Us Wednesday
I admit it. I would never have seen the potential in that squirrel piece, but painted white, I absolutely love it. You have a great eye!
I just saw this at A Bowl Full of Lemons, and I love it! If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit “One Creative Weekend” on OneCreativeMommy.com today (or any time Fri-Wed) and link up!
How cute! My grandma used to have one almost exactly like that, in brown. I love how spray paint can breath new life into old junk. I just came in from spray painting something of my own, in fact.
Have a good one!
I have that same little “squirrel on a nut” dish! Mine is glazed dark brown and i think I paid $2 for it at Goodwill’s Blue Hanger store. Yours looks great painted white. Happy Fall – hang in there!
I love the white spray paint…darling vingnette.
I like the lamp shade, think I will take in Home Goods too, see if I can find the new lampshades I need. I am having a hard time finding “harp” lampshades…(the kind that need to have a harp on the lamp)…

Your squirrel on the walnut is so stylin’ now in white, and I love that it was a quick spray paint project–love those!
I love it! I about spitt out my coffee because I have the same squirrl painted the same color… It made me giggle to know I am sooo cool too!
You made me smile! Thanks for your sweet note! From one cool chick to another! XO, Aimee
OH SQUEAAAAAAK! I love that squirrel! What a great find. I love squirrels for fall. In fact I made a fairly new book “Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk” a part of my Fall mantle.
I saw a comment that you are a DFW-er? Me too! I’m from Justin. I’m your newest follower!!!!
It’s worth the drive for sure Dianna! Thanks for your sweet note about my chipmunk/squirrel…any animal experts out there!?!? Xo, Aimee
