Before I share How to Make a Pumpkin Garland, I want to say a HUGE thanks for all the comments you left for me on my Fall Mantel post. I’m glad you loved the deer cut-out! Stud did an amazing job…I love my role as Vision Caster (sounds important)! Several of you sked for a tutorial on my DIY Pumpkin Garland or Banner!?! I’m so glad you asked! Simple crafts are totally my thing and if it’s your thing, too…you’re going to love this!
When I’m shopping I like to keep my eyes peeled for miniatures because they always make great garlands. These pumpkins were found at a local craft store for $5 (minus my 40% coupon). Anything with a Styrofoam base is going to be the perfect weight for this project. I stretched a piece of jute the width of my fireplace and use 1.5 times the amount to allow for swag and knots at the end. I scattered pumpkins ever 2-3 inches along the jute until I was happy with the layout and then with a magazine in one hand and a hot glue gun in the other, I started on one end, using the magazine as my workstation and began hot gluing these cute little pumpkins across the jute, allowing the glue was dry before moving on to the next section. The result…a Pumpkin Garland with a vintage flair.
This took at the most, thirty minutes to create! I love that I can use it for both Halloween and Thanksgiving. And storing it will be a breeze, it’s very fuss-free! Let me know if you find some cool Styrofoam shapes for Christmas…I’m on the prowl! But not too much…I love enjoying each holiday as it comes!!! My family is all about Halloween for now and this afternoon I had a treat for them…yep, I used my CAMEO again! I decorated my pumpkins with vinyl monograms. There are still several pumpkins left for my sweeties to carve…a family tradition!
