My Most Asked Question…

Happy Sunday!  Usually I write about making things pretty through crafts, decor, and organization, but today I wanted to veer from that a bit because I’ve been getting emails asking for helpful tips on parenting.  I totally get it!  Shaping hearts in a loving way when our hearts are forever needing shaping is a huge challenge!

I am right there with you friends!  If I were to tell you that I have it all together….that I’ve trained my kids to always interact with each other in a loving way and that I always speak with gentleness and self control…it would be a total lie!  Families are messy!

As moms, it’s easy for our identity to get wrapped up in the performance of our children….that’s a lose : lose scenario.  Try really hard to not appear perfect or give your children the false notion that you are hoping for perfection from them!  Parenting Perfection is a total oxymoron!  Authenticity allows us to have a growing relationship with our Heavenly Father, makes us approachable in our homes, and is an amazing example of hope to pass onto our children.

I think we should use  the Christmas Season ahead to focus with our families on the one and only man to live a perfect life, Jesus, the Son of God!

  4. Hi Aimee, thanks for such a wise and insightful post. It’s so easy to forget what Christmas is all about as we rush from one thing to another during this season. Our kids see and hear so much, and look to us to set the tone. Thanks for keeping it real. And great song, by the way! Have a wonderful week.
