Home Tours: Brand New

Don’t you just LOVE Dreamy Dwelling Home Tours?! We decided to crash my parent’s pad while they were out of town last weekend! My family relocated from California to Texas when I was a high school freshman. We chose a city with one chain restaurant, Applebees and it’s little claim to fame, an adorable town square. It was a huge shock to our systems at first, but we’ve all come to love this little city. McKinney has had huge growth — twenty elementary schools, three high schools, and every retail store imaginable, but it still boasts of it’s quaint town square! I had a blast showing my sweeties my old stomping grounds. While there, we took a tour of one of the model homes in a neighboring city. We have to keep our options open, right! This home had so many creature features that our rancher has never and will never know…tempting! It wasn’t super homey, but definitely full of ideas.
The openness and tall ceilings made this already spacious home feel airy and bright.
On my never ending list, I want more paintings in my home. I love the painting above the fireplace.
My parents have wood burning logs with sealed glass, and a remote as shown below. Its amazing how much heat pours in when there isn’t a competing draft!
The master bedroom was large and I totally loved the mirrored dresser under the window….
The mater suite had an additional sitting area with a sunburst mirror — LOVE.
I love that this builder chose to use high grade hardware and cabinets, the overall look seemed very custom.
My kids had a blast in the upstairs family room. Little B claimed the desk with the spinning chair!
Some family friendly decor touches and wire basket storage for games.
This house had an extra room to be used as a guest and sewing room. Perfect!
And there was an extra room off the garage, staged as a craft room. Little B made herself at home and begged us to make this her home. Only for a second. The thought of leaving our sweet home and precious friends helped us walk away from this fun dreamy dwelling!

Every time I see your blog in my email I get excited. I receive many decorating and craft blogs daily and yours is one that I really enjoy the most. Thank you for your ideas and inspiration. You are a blessing to me.
You made my eyes get all teary! Thanks Nancy…I totally appreciate your kind words! XO, Aimee
At first I thought you were sneaking into your parents home to take pictures and I was going to show my kids and say THIS is the reason I have to clean before I take a trip!

That would have been a totally fun, juicy post! Hmm, neighbors consider yourself warned. LOL. I should share a tour of my parent’s home though…they downsized when we all moved out. They bought a nice home on the golf course, gutted it, and had it rebuilt to fit their every need! — You crack me up girl!!!
Your home tours are the absolute best! What a treat.
Thanks SO MUCH Lucia! I love homes that get my creative juices flowing, too!!! XO, Aimee
It would be fun to take up the challenge of making a house like that into a home wouldn’t it?! THe extra room for a sewing room had me at hello!
I love the master bedroom colors and the kitchen layout! Great house!
How fun to think I might run into you when you visit your parents!
What a beautiful home. It gets me inspired! We would like to invite you to share this at our blog party. It is a weekly Thursday party going live tonight (Wed.) at 8:00 p.m. MST time. We hope to see you there!
Have a wonderful day!
