Am I the only mom who has epically failed at explaining how to sort laundry to their kids!?! I’ve read tons of chore books and this is “supposed” to be a task for very young children. So here’s explanation #101 for my little 11, 8, and 7 year olds — crossing my fingers this visual works like magic!
I’ve worked a little here and there in every room – I’m totally needing to catch you up on my progress! Let’s start with my laundry room! I liked the original color in here. Reminds me of the Eloquent Ivory at my Rancher. All that blank wall was just waiting for a little purpose in life!
I used my new FrogTape® Textured Surface. Its is meant to be used on textured wall surfaces (I have really bumpy walls so this was a good test). After figuring out the size, I taped the edges.
Then pressed down the edges firmly around the entire rectangle.
There’s a chemical that helps seal the edges in FrogTape® so as stated on the directions, I used a damp towel around all of the edges.
Then I put the brush on the liquid sealer that came in the package and applied it to all edges. (This took all of two seconds).
I waited for fifteen minutes while the sealer dried —
Then painted three coats of chalkboard paint inside the taped textured wall.
When the paint dried, I pulled away the FrogTape® — PERFECTION!
And with a simple chalk marker in white, I labeled the sections in my laundry bags. (I need to reorder my chalk marker — it lasted a year so I can’t complain).
I’m totally crossing my fingers this helps cut down the time I spend in the laundry room — my new labels looks great, but there are so many other things in life I enjoy more!!!
