Sweet Smell of Christmas

Can you believe it?! Christmas is only eight days away! As I sip my Chai latte and enjoy the twinkling lights on my Christmas tree — the sweet smell of my Glade® Winter Collection candle totally makes me smile! I love this time of year, but knowing we’re leaving for Kentucky in a couple days, takes my heart to a whole new level. Most of you know that I am one of four girls and that my baby sister, Anna lives in Kentucky with her hubby and three sweet babies!

Last Christmas, Anna and her family drove down to visit our family in Texas. It was a total miracle that they made it here and back home safely. My brother-in-law, Mark (34) had been experiencing migraines and blurred vision for a few weeks, but with the busyness of moving into a new home, he didn’t give it much thought. The fourteen hour trip each way amplified Mark’s symptoms and as soon as he was back home he visited his optometrist who sent him to the ER. There Mark was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer, glioblastoma. I’ve made a couple trips to see Mark, Anna, and their three sweeties, but this Christmas will be the first time we’re all together again. I can’t wait!

Isaiah 9:6

Spending the holidays with family and reflecting together on the sweetest gift of all, the birth of our Savior is what warms my heart the most at Christmastime.
