Dining Room Progress

I’ve been in ‘update house’ task mode, but what fun is progress if you don’t share the process!?!?  Yesterday I shared some pics of our living room updates and today I wanted to show you our dining room progress — which wouldn’t have been possible without master bedroom and family room updates!  It’s all about  —

Repurposing Furniture @ItsOverflowing

Candle Sconces @ItsOverflowing 2

I already showed you my re-purposed dresser from my master bedroom.  I love it as a media console in the family room!  The mirror found a new wall to hang, too.  It’s been fun changing this space back into a dining room since we used other rooms in our home as offices for Stud and I both.  This is what the room looked like when used by the previous owners.

Here it is how the room is looking now.  My mirror from the master bedroom is centered above the table, I am using my new Valentine’s Day table runner and I hung up new wall sconces.

Dining Room 3 @ItsOverflowing

The wall sconces were a fun find at HomeGoods Store — love that place!

Dining Room 6 @ItsOverflowing

And on the table, my new wipeable, reuseable table runner is my favorite — I can let the kids and their friends eat in here without a worry!

Dining Room 2 @ItsOverflowing

Here’s the box they came in —

(I bought a couple other styles, too).

Table Runner, Loft 213 @ItsOverflowing

Still on the list for this room is a beautiful, traditional chandelier, a buffet with a narrow depth, hanging my decor plates, window treatments, and fabric to recover the dining room chairs.

Dining Room 5 @ItsOverflowing

I found my table runner at Marshalls, the brand is Loft | 213 – their fb page says coming to stores everywhere soon.

Dining Room Candles @ItsOverflowing

I love that my candles have carried me through Christmas, New Years, and Valentine’s Day!  I told you at the beginning of the year that my word of the year was Simplicity — and shared some printables to help keep me on track — one of the goals was to Shop Smart — I’m really trying!!!

  1. Love being able to use things from around the house in other areas! The mix of candlesticks is lovely.

  2. Your house looks beautiful Aimee, and the runners are such a great idea!

  3. Peggy Thal says:

Dressers are perfect for a large TV. Using ours for a 62 inch flat screen. It is great and perfect in our bedroom. Would not be without a TV in the bedroom. It is always good to move things around. Your mirror looks wonderful.

  4. I love how you are re-using pieces you already have and your dining room looks amazing. Hugs, Marty

  5. Diana says:

Love the wall sconce and all the candlesticks on the table. The musical runner will be fun too! I like watching all the changes and things coming together, keep them coming.

  6. Aimee, it looks great! I love the new wall color, I’m already wanting to put some white paint up! Your white and silver candle sticks look great on your red table runner. Thanks for sharing the brand of table runner. Love it all!

  7. Love the wipeable table runner. I’m going to be on the lookout for that when I’m next at Marshall’s.
