My Dream Home – House Tour

Ready for another Dreamy Dwelling Home Tour!?!  Want to see my new house!?!  Well, it will be a few weeks before I know for sure, but I am totally hoping I’m the HGTV My Dream Home 2014 winner!!!  Did you peek through the rooms and enter the giveaway, too!?!  This house makes being snowed in sound perfect!

Exterior with snow-long

As you walk into the foyer, I notice two things that instantly win me over.  1. Tons of Light – I love the oversized windows throughout.  2. Tons of Texture – I love that the house incorporates a great blend of natural materials.   For those of you with little kids, don’t you love that there’s so much room for them to come inside and drop all their snow gear!

Entrance from foyer

This kitchen is BEAUTIFUL!  So many modern touches, but it is anything, but cold.  I love that this room has simple drapes and complimenting textiles on the chairs.  I have picked a similar granite in two of my houses… love it!

And I am obsessed that the designers chose an area rug that’s not just pretty, but also real practical!

Dream Home - 02

It’s amazing how this room blends so well with the natural elements of the outdoors.  I always lean towards neutrals.  I love how the pops of yellow in the furniture and the hint of red in the plant allow for more interest in the room.

Living room

What a beautiful master suite!  I want to find a poof or little ottoman for my side of the bed at my house.  I love a pretty nightstand, but I need a place for the book or magazine I’m reading.  What a perfect solution!

More storage in the master bath.  Don’t you love how this shelving unit is more than great storage — so pretty!  And another ottoman beside the tub — adding two of these to my “must buy” list.

The stripes in this room totally work, but even more than that, I’m obsessed with the granite counter mounted above the front load washer and dryer.  Indestructible and beautiful.  I also like that they added hooks below the window — so much better than throwing a damp towel into the laundry hamper — let it dry until it’s time to be washed!

Dream Home - 10

Where is that quilt and those shams from!?!  I am on the hunt for bedding for the guest room and totally want to find a pattern that won’t limit me to a certain accent color.  I love the desk and ottoman next to the bed and the two chandeliers on either side hanging from the tall ceilings.  Such a great room!

Guest bedroom

And this bunk room is so cool.  Do your prefer these or the built-in bunks I showed you the other day?  This room is full of whimsy, any child would love calling this room home.

And the bathroom has another great organizing tip that I think every kid’s bathroom should incorporate!  Don’t you love this wall of hooks for towels and clothes!

I mentioned tons of windows earlier — I wasn’t kidding, right!  I grew up not too far from Lake Tahoe and totally am crossing my fingers that I get picked to win this amazing HGTV Dream Home!

If I am picked, count yourself invited to grill out with our family on our new beautiful back patio!

  1. Such a beautiful home and gorgeous setting. Someone has to win – may as well be you!

  2. The bunk room is adorable! I love the bold stripes. I really like the built in bunks but I move furniture around to much for any built ins. Thanks for sharing this beautiful home.

  3. So funny, Aimee – I hope you win! I would love to see you in your dream home!

  4. Lovely home! I love the kids rooms with the bunk beds. How fun would that be. Very warm and inviting! I hope you win!! Kari

  5. It was fun to see the color. I love the popular neutral palettes in homes today, but always enjoy seeing how people use color in their homes.
    Thanks for your home tours!

That orange bed ( not my color ) and huge clock looks amazing in this space.
