Spring Flowers on the Porch

Small shoots of green are starting to sprout in the grass.  We’ll have a few more cold mornings, but little touches of Spring are such a welcome treat!  Last week, my mom came over and together we added a touch of color to my front porch.

We walked through several nurseries looking for flowers, but the selection was scarce.  On our way home we stopped at one more spot and found this fun trellis and picked up some yellow jasmine for my two front porch pots.  I am loving my new Spiral Obelisk Trellis (9in x 30in) from Walmart — only $6.

I’m spoiled by my low maintenance pots!  They are wired to water with my sprinkler system (thanks to the fun addition from our previous owners).

Spring is my favorite season, but it’s also the time of year that fighting allergies are the worst.  A little over a month ago, I was given the Fellowes AeraMax™ DX-55 Air Purifier to review.  I was so excited when it arrived on my front porch!

We placed the purifier in our family room where we spend most of our time.  It arrived just as my little 5th grader was comingdown with a little something.  This purifier does my mommy heart good — so nice to know I have a little helper to fight the germs.  Since adding my air filter I have noticed a decrease in dust and less sneezing and coughing — with cold and flu season at its peak I am so thankful for my air purifier!

Fellowes AeraMax™ DX-55 removes up to 99.97% of airborne particles, including pollen, ragweed and other allergens, viruses, germs, dust mites, mold spores and smoke to keep the air clean and it is certified asthma and allergy friendly.  I am so impressed with how quiet it runs. Occasionally, it will switch speeds when it detects an odor or when the dog comes in from outside, but it is quiet even when operating at a higher speed.

Here is a 4 step process to reduce cold and flu season risk in your home:

  1. Ask about a flu shot
  2. Wash and sanitize hands regularly
  3. Wipe down surfaces with powerful disinfectants
  4. Purify the air indoors.

You can buy your own Fellowes AeraMax™ DX-55 at BestBuy.com starting at $189.99.  For our family, an air purifier is something we’ll use year-round, not just for cold and flu season.  Seasonal allergies are such a pain I love that my air purifier helps us stay on top of the air quality in our home!

So pretty – they’ll look amazing as they grow :-) Purifiers are great – you’ve reminded me it’s been years since we’ve had one, and I need another! Have a great day!

With those spring flowers (yours are so beautiful on the porch!) starting to bloom it is allergy season for me. I know people who use them indoors – now if I could find a way for them to keep the outdoor pollen at bay : )
