Ready for another Dreamy Dwelling Home Tour!?! As I work to Update My Space, I love the inspiration of these tours!!! Mallory has a beautiful home to share with us today — I know you’re going to enjoy touring the home of this talented designer!
Our townhouse is the first home I have owned, so to be able to not feel guilty about putting money into making it your own has been so much fun and a great learning process. What we started with is a complete 180 from where we are now. Popcorn ceilings removed, new lighting, new flooring…just to name a few. To see full before & afters of how I ‘Update My Space’ on my blog. I am still constantly making changes (welcome to the life of a designer)…but I thought I would share some afters progress shots with you all! First up is our living room this is my favorite room in our house, ironically it is one I have yet to do a full reveal of! It took the longest to pull together but lots of fine tuning and it is truly a space I love to hang out in…which is good because we spend most of our time there! I created the golden arrow artwork and you can see that process here!
The living room is open in the same space as our dining room. This was one of the first to come together thanks to some luck of hitting great sales and a few Craigslist and vintage finds! The buffet originally was covered in chickens?!?! I refinished it to black and hit the flea market jackpot when I found the hardware that is original to the furniture style!
The only thing that is the same in the kitchen is the cabinets. I just gave them a fresh coat of paint and changed out the hardware. In came new appliances, lighting, counters, and back splash. I kept things simple in here because the space is so small.
On this same level is our powder room. I knew from the beginning I really wanted Kelly Wearstler’s Imperial Trellis. Having so many things on our to do list to help cut costs I decided to create my own stencil and paint it by hand!!! I called this my insanity project as it was the closest to going insane I have been!!! After over 40 hours total I will definitely just splurge on the wallpaper next time!!! This room also started out with peel and stick flooring and the original 70′s vanity, ect. Everything came out and being patient on waiting on the things I wanted to be on sale this entire room was redone for about $500! Not bad for a bathroom overhaul.
Over our stairs and landings I painted Ikea Maskros fixtures gold and replaced them with the boring mushroom lights that were previously there! They make such a statement! The Dorothy Draper chest is one of my all time favorite Craigslist finds!
Next is our guest room. This is one of those rooms I am still constantly changing! The headboard I made myself and the curtains were store bought that I then added the orange stripes to!
Finally is our mater bedroom. This is actually the second time I have redone this room…but I really do love it now. You can see the previous room and the process of making it over this past time by looking under the ’one room challenge‘ on my blog!
Gorgeous, don’t you think! What did you love about this house?! Make sure to keep up with the latest at Confetti & Stripes — where Mallory shares how she makes their house a home and extra tidbits of interior and fashion inspiration along the way!
