Don’t you just LOVE a Dreamy Dwelling House Tour?! You are going to love this Fun Eclectic – House Tour. When Lindsay’s family moved into their newly built, builder’s beige home, they resigned themselves to the fact that they would be living in neutrals for a while. Most families embrace neutrals, but not them. This family is not neutral. You’re going to love this house tour —
Over the course of several years, we have been working to bring our home into the Technicolor dream world that we desire. I’ve also brought some fun and quirk into the mix. I created a chevron wall made from astroturf grass. This is one of the first things you see when you walk into our home.
Further down the hall, you’ll find the powder room. The before was so basic that I couldn’t even stand it. The after? So much fun. I mean, who else has a friend’s old kitchen table in their bathroom?
On the lower level, you’ll also find the master bedroom. I was worried that I’d grow tired of the dark gray and white chevrons, but it hasn’t happened. It’s still one of my favorite rooms in our home.
Heading upstairs, you will find my kids’ playroom. I wanted a place that we could enjoy as a family but would function just as well for the kids only. There’s tons of hidden storage, so it’s easy for them to clean up the room.
Adjacent to the playroom is my home office. The herringbone wood wall is one of my favorite projects to date – it stops me in my tracks every time I walk into the room.
I’ve also given my kids’/guest bathroom a fun makeover. It went from having a dark, cave-like feel to this crazy, bright room you find today. That shower curtain took longer to make than any other project I’ve ever completed!
And last up on today’s tour is my daughter’s newly finished “big girl room.” I wanted something to reflect her spunk and personality, and I think it does. She loves it as much as I do.
Thanks for visiting my home today! I hope you enjoyed our crazy, colorful home. Make sure to keep up with the latest at Makely School for Girls — where Lindsay transforms their blah blah builder’s beige home into an inspiring and eclectic space!
