Modern Rancher House Tour

Ready for another Dreamy Dwelling Home Tour!?!  This house was shared with me by one of my forever besties and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to share it with you!!!  I spent several years in a rancher and totally loved making it my own!!!  I wish that I could have referred to this house at the time — the inspiration is amazing — want to walk through this Modern Rancher with me?

The porch is so welcoming, let’s go inside this gorgeous home now!!!

This is the perfect color of scraped hardwoods, rick and dark, but enough variation in the wood tones that any furniture works with it wonderfully!

Attached to the formal living is the formal dining.  But before moving on, I need a few good moments to stare at this tufted sofa!

I love this fabulous chandelier and the sunburst mirror above the buffet.  I tend to lean towards long dining room tables with endless room for guests, but this table and chair set looks so inviting, I think guests would be comfy for hours!!  Which do you prefer?!!

The beautifully remodeled kitchen is open to the large family room!

Taking a poll — Do you like a TV above fireplace or not!?!

This family room has more gorgeous furniture!  Because I have a leather sofa, I lean towards not repeating, but this sofa makes me change my mind back to my first love, my dark leather sofa!

I’m still brainstorming my kitchen (although with life so busy right now it may have to wait),  50:50 wood counter tops and marble counter tops or keep it consistent!   This kitchen looks real good!!!

Not a corner went unnoticed by the owners of this house!!!  Love that window seat, the few select open cabinet uppers, and the chalkboard doors for the pantry!  CUTE to the MAX!

Storage for cookbooks — LOVE!

I’m thinking about doing something similar with my kitchen…get rid of the bi-level counter and make it an island — the kitchen feels huge because it’s so open.

I love those neutral botanicals on the right, along the hallway.

I totally love this office!  Desk for two, fun rug, and a system for organizing file folders!  Awesome rug, too!

Guest room — I have about a million uses for that basket!  And the headboard is very similar to what I want to make for our guest room.

These twin beds are precious with the antique rocker!  Love those rosette pillows, too!  I think I could have some fun decorating these walls!!!

Loving that sunburst mirror above the master bed!  (My neighbor found some at Garden Ridge for a great price wonder if they’re this cute — I may have to sneak a peek at hers).  These drapes are beautiful and I love this bench at the end of the bed!

  1. What a beautiful home! My favorite rooms are the office and the master bedroom. Very nicely done!:-)

  2. What a great space!

  3. We are looking at purchasing a rancher right now, so seeing this post was good timing! I’m not a fan of TV’s over the fireplace either, I find you have to strain your neck to watch. I loved this home and was taken aback that most of the walls were left empty without artwork. I always seem to have to fill up the walls!!

    • I know Cheryl — the empty walls is shocking to see! I think they were that way so that new owners could visualize themselves in the house. Surely it used to have some fun decor!!! Excited for your new purchase!!! XO, Aimee

  4. Diana says:

Love the rugs, pops of color everywhere. No, not a fan of tvs over fireplaces. Have a wonderful weekend!

    • That front room has such a fun rug!!! I totally love it!!! I hope you have a really great weekend too Diana!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet note friend!!! XO, Aimee

  5. Catherine says:

I love that spacious master bedroom & bath. We have a ranch house, but it is basically full of tiny rooms.

Not a big fan of tvs over fireplaces. I think they’re a little uncomfortable to watch if they aren’t closer to eye level.

    • Those rooms are HUGE Catherine, I thought the same thing!!! And I agree, it’s streamlined to put the TV on the mantel, but I love making my mantel pretty! XO, Aimee
