Holding Still – Share Your Creativity

Welcome to Share Your Creativity Party • No. 114.  Both boys were in a double elimination baseball tournament this weekend and within twenty hours they had played five games and walked away with a 2nd place trophy.  Today, Little B will take the stage to dance four programs at her end of the year recital.  It completely melts my heart to see my babies shine, it is so much fun!!!  And yet this much activity in a weekend raises red flags for Stud and I because we both hold balance and margin at top priority for our family.  We are fine with a busy weekend every once in a while, but we like to guard against getting caught up in non-stop activity when our babies are still so little.  A few weeks ago we were approached by some great coaches about All Stars for both boys, but after spending some time praying and reflecting, God gave us a peace to trust Him with the boys’ talents and sit this summer out from organized sports.  These babies are young for such a short time.  I’m thankful for this reminder —  Isaiah 64:4 says, ‘From of old, no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides You who acts for those who wait for Him.’  Trusting Him to keep on leading us as we care for our babies!

Thank you for the party Aimee, it is such a great Sunday treat~ I love reading your inspirational verses and hearing your sweet stories. I think you are doing the right thing with your summer, kids need time to play and grow, sometimes sports are simply too stressful for everyone, and it is hard to say no when everyone else is saying yes. You will have a great a special summer together~

  9. Thanks for sharing that verse and your thoughts! I pray God will bless you for holding to your family values.

  10. I agree – I think today kid’s have no free time to learn how to be creative – wise decision to sit the summer out to just enjoy being a family!
