Tips for Hosting a Pool Party

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TIKI® Brand. All opinions are 100% mine.

Everyone loves a great pool party, especially when the sun is blazing. Hosting a pool party can be simple if you let the water do all the work! There’s no need to schedule activities or crafts for the kids, jumping into the pool over and over is totally entertaining.

1. Stock Up on Towels, Sun Protection, and Toys.

Whether hosting a few friends or a big crowd all guests will need towels, sun protection, and toys. If you prefer, ask guests to bring their own, but for those who forget I keep three galvanized pails stocked by the pool. 1. The smallest pail is a sun protection station. 2. The medium-sized pail holds goggles, small pool balls, and diving sticks. 3. And the largest pail stores clean towels for guests. At the end of the party I reuse the large pail to collect the wet towels.

2. Create a Party Atmosphere.

Pool parties don’t require a lot of decorations. Add several TIKI Brand Island King®Large Flame Torches, a TIKI Brand Fire Sculpture – I love my Antigua, and globe string lights to create the perfect ambiance. Hang some paper lanterns, turn up the music, and the party setup is complete!

3.  Make it a Potluck.

If preparing a full meal for guests seems overwhelming, don’t put off entertaining. Make the Pool Party a Potluck and ask guests to bring their favorite poolside appetizers to share!  -OR-  Use the same plan for multiple parties…I use my Pool Party Printables all the time (FREE Prints Here)!

  1. Great tips! I love the atmosphere you set up!

  2. We have tons of pool parties throughout the year (benefit of living in paradise!) … a few additional things that we do is a small basket with extra (inexpensive) sun glasses and a basket with koozies to keep the cans and bottles of soda/beer/water cool … my kids are in their early 20’s so we ditched the dive sticks a while ago and have since made the replacements of inexpensive inflatable rafts of different styles and pool noodles and of course, the large alligator!
